When it comes to choosing the right lip color for your wedding day determining your undertone is the fist step. Undertones can be tricky but we have a couple of tips for you today to help you narrow down the 50 shades of hue.
Look at the inside of your wrist, if your veins appear are more of bluish color then you are cool toned. If they are more of a shade of green then you have a warm undertone. If your veins have a appear to have a mix of both blue and green or a shade between blue and green then you have a neutral undertone. Still not sure? Think about how your skin behaves in the sun as we continue.
What color pallet goes with what tone
Warm undertones typically echo golds and reds and darken in the sun without burning. Colors that work best for warm undertones include corals, peach, deep plums and metallic shades such as bronze or gold.
Cooler undertones have shades of pinks and blues. When spending time in the sun these tones tend to darken but do sometimes burn. For cooler undertones choose from shades of pinks, nude pinks, cool purple and mocha.
Neutral undertones of course the most versatile, and contain a mix of shades found both in cooler and warmer undertones. Although they are the most versatile in the color spectrum they are also the most sensitive to the sun and tend to burn very easily. Neutral undertones work well with just about any color in particular red berries and mauves.
No matter what undertone you are working with being comfortable in the shade of lip color your choose for your wedding day is most important. Prior to your makeup trial or the day of we recommend that you experiment with a variety of different shades and work with your undertones. Don’t be afraid to mix colors to create your own.
