Cleanse, Hydrate and Protect!

Keep it clean… The safest way to wash your face is with your hands. Why you ask? Washcloths can harbor bacteria additionally, washcloths and scrubs can be very abrasiveness and can actually harm or irritate healthy skin. Our recommended best practice:

Wash your hands
Use a separate makeup remover to tackle waterproof mascara and long-wearing lipstick.
Wash your hands again..
Cleanse with a mild soap and warm water
Pat dry
Apply your favorite moisturizer
Repeat twice daily. (especially at night)

Side note! Do not use hand sanitizer on your face! Hand sanitizer is meant to just be used on your hands when soap and water are not an option for hand washing. Most hand sanitizers contain alcohol, which kills germs but can be very drying, even non-alcohol based hand sanitizer should not be used on your face.

Toss the toxins! Making sure your skin is hydrated will leave your skin luminous, lifted and glowing for your wedding day. Good skin starts from within. No matter what season it is your skin craves water! Hydrate both your body and your skin by drinking plenty of water and eating foods high in antioxidants and protein to help keep the elastic and prevents wrinkles. Try grapefruit, cucumbers, tomatoes and kale they are all super foods for your face.

Bonus tip! For bride traveling to Las Vegas for your wedding day, you should be drinking 12 ounces of water for every hour you’re in the air. That might mean more trips to the ladies room but it will be well worth it in the end!

Protection is essential!

Protection from both UVA and UVB rays with a minimum SPF of 30 is a good guideline to choose one that is right for you.

Hats are Back! I can’t think of more stylish way to protect your face from the suns harmful rays. Don’t forget to protect your eyes as well!

One final tip…Go makeup free when it’s possible in the months, weeks and days leading up to your wedding day. The more oxygen your skin can absorb the better. For a daily pick me up, play up your eyes and try something new with your hair.
