In today’s world and in business things change everyday. It can be quite overwhelming to keep up with it all and even more challenging finding some one you can trust with your website especially when your website is your lifeline. I struggled to find the right people for quite some time. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that when I picked up the phone and called Genie that these two amazing people would come into my life with such exuberance and passion and a love of all things rock and roll. Today I want to share with you another Vendor we love at Makeup In The 702. It’s my pleasure to introduce you to Duane & Genie Forkner from New Media Vegas our webmaster and the creators of Sin City Presents Magazine.
Any time I reach out for help they are there. They never laugh at my silly questions or think a task that I ask them to help me with is too big or too small or not worth their time.
A few weeks ago I received a text from Genie when I was on location with a client and she said “Congratulations on hitting 15,000 hits to your website. WHAT?!?!?! Are you kidding me- unbelievable!! Just a small thing but it was quite a feeling of accomplishment in my day and something for my team to celebrate.
I did manage to get these two to sit still for a couple of minutes for few quick questions about their business and this is what they had to share with us.
Typically the vendors we get to share with our readers are others in the wedding services industry yours is a little different, what do you want a planning couple to know about your business?
Let’s see, well for a happy couple planning their special day we can build them a website to share with their friends and family. Not every couple is comfortable with posting all of their special plans on a social media site so a wedding website is a nice option. It offers the couple a central location to share milestones with friends and family, list links for their registries, post photos, collect RSVP’s and post maps. A website offers a little more protection and privacy that you can’t get with social media. Another benefit of having a website is that it can grow with you and become a great family sharing point as you begin to build your life together. We can also offer planning couple a place to announce their engagement in our magazine, Sin City Presents. Some say the tradition of an engagement announcement is a nostalgic practice that has seen its time pass, I think it’s pretty cool to be able to share your happiness with the world somewhere other that Facebook.
What are some of the misconceptions about your service?
That question is probably more applicable to the type of clients we serve as opposed to a planning couple. The biggest misconceptions in the web industry these days are anyone can build a website for free and the one we hear all too often is “I have a website how come I am not on page one of Google?” Nothing is FREE! There are costs involved in having a website and there are a lot of tricksters out there that will hold your domain names and content hostage. We place the power back in your hands by making sure our clients have complete access and control of their online assets. Educating our clients is our greatest tool. Next, getting on page one of Google takes a lot of work there are no shortcuts. SEO (serach engine optimization) is an investment of both time and financial resources.
What are the benefits of using your service?
Accessibility, integrity and we’re local. That may sound simple but it’s true. We answer the phone! Not everyone, especially in Las Vegas works 9-5 so we work when our clients need us to. We’re both from Las Vegas so we understand this unique marketplace. We won’t try to buffalo you, and believe us when we say we have seen every type of scam and hustle out there we have. If we can’t do something we’ll tell you and we’ll do our best to find someone we trust to refer you to. We don’t make promises we can’t keep and we strive to over deliver every time. If you succeed we succeed! We’re not interested in transactional relationships we work hard at establishing and maintainig long term business relationships. We do that by being active in our community and participating in business networks that have a solid foundation and reputation in Las Vegas. Organizations such as the Las Vegas Wedding Network and the Convention Services Association of Las Vegas where we serve as board members.

Where do you find your inspiration?
The people around us. When it comes to web design and marketing for our client it’s our job to bring it life. Every website we design and every piece of content we create reflects the personality of their brand not ours. Nothing we do is cookie cutter. The content for the magazine is driven by the people as well. The core of the content is centered around entertainment, business and community. We were able to take things we both love and create a platform to share the things that make others happy with the world.
It’s really the little things that matter and the undeniable support that I have from these two that make me want to wrap my arms around them and say- THANK YOU!!!! Thank you for being you. Thank you for being genuine and thank you for supporting my dreams.
