Las Vegas Wedding Chamber of Commerce- The Wedding Capital of The World!!

LVWCC 1  A few weeks ago we were honored to be present at the very first meeting of the Las Vegas Wedding Chamber of Commerce at the Bootlegger Restaurant. As was expected it was a smashing party with live music and delicious food in the company of some of our very favorite Las Vegas wedding vendor friends, but we were all there for serious business.

The Las Vegas wedding industry has changed tremendiously over the last few decades. What was once thought to be the wild west, famous for elopements and drive through Elvis weddings, has morphed into a premier, world class wedding destination.  The Las Vegas Wedding Chamber of Commerce has been formed to create a vibrant and evolving environment to best serve couples and grow our industry.

We are so excited to be one of the Charter Members of the Las Vegas Wedding Chamber of Commerce. Below is a bit of information from them as to what that means and what roll they will play in the Las Vegas wedding industry-

Las Vegas’ array of accommodations and amenities offer something for nearly every taste, including visitors seeking a luxurious experience, both in and out of the casino. In fact, in the last several years, Las Vegas has established its place among the ranks of the world’s most plush destinations.

Las Vegas is known as much for its weddings as it is for its casinos. With an average of nearly 100,000 marriage licenses issued annually, Las Vegas is recognized as the world’s wedding capital. Whether it’s eloping on a secret rendezvous, or planning an elaborate ceremony for hundreds of your family and friends, there is no place quite like Vegas to make it official.

LVWCC 2

“Our mission is to help guide businesses in best practices and to help create a new brand for weddings in Las Vegas as the wedding experts of the world. To show couples all over the world that Las Vegas is their source for quality weddings and affordable luxury.”

The Las Vegas wedding industry flourished in part because of Nevada’s less restrictive marriage laws that require no blood tests and no waiting period.

“Wedding tourism is a core industry in Las Vegas. It’s part of our international brand,”

                                  State Sen. Ruben Kihuen

Wedding tourism in the “wedding capital of the world” is down.  Marketing efforts  for our city are focused on gambling, conventions and dining.  For decades it has been taken for granted that the wedding industry would remain with out the support of marketing efforts directed at attracting planning couples to our city.

Today, we have formed the Las Vegas Wedding Chamber of Commerce as a collective voice to work with our officials to strengthen our industry and the international brand known as Las Vegas.

LUSH Massage Bars are Sprouting in Users Showers! Copy

Any one who has gotten a gift or thank-you from the Makeup In The 702 team in the last 5 years has probably gotten a LUSH bath bomb, scrub or other yummy product because we LOVE LUSH!!!!!!!!

It smells AMAZING!!! The scrubs get the job done- for real!! And they use natural and responsibly sourced ingredients in their products- What’s not to love?!?

Lush 3

In the past few weeks I’ve seen some suspect posts on Instagram FaceBook of plants growing our of peoples showers and sinks and didn’t know what to think, so I did a bit of my own online digging and this was the best I found.Lush 2

Lush’s Wiccy Magic Muscles massage bar  contains aduki beans for its superb nourishing and exfoliating purposes. But those users that are lathering up with the bar are finding that if the beans drip into your drain, and gets just the right amount of moisture and humidity (and come on- its the shower…..moisture and humidity is PERFECT) they could sprout their very own little plants. A shower garden!!

Lush Diva Extraordinaire, co-founder and product inventor Helen Ambrosen told BuzzFeed: “We use organic aduki beans to create a texture in the massage bar, so that you’ve got small bead like shapes to massage the muscles. In order for the beans to germinate they must of been left in the shower for a few days. The results you get just go to show how fresh the ingredients really are.”

We are with Helen!!! Knowing the damage that plastic micro beads are wrecking on the environment, I am far more comfortable with the potential of sprouts in my drain than pollution in my water ways.

One magical May afternoon nestled in the charming grounds at A Secret Garden, Amanda and Michael became husband and wife surrounded by all of their family and friends. The rain had cleared up just in time for the couple to say their “I Dos,” which helped make their wedding day that much more beautiful!

3.25 Blog 3

To help plan their perfect wedding, Amanda and Michael attended one of our great Bridal Spectacular shows to get them started. After all of their research, they chose to get married at A Secret Garden on May 22, 2015 and selected High Class Studios to capture all of their beautiful moments.

As featured in the spring issue of Spectacular Bride Magazine, Amanda and Michael’s wedding started with a gorgeous garden ceremony followed by an al fresco reception underneath the night sky and sparkling stars. Vintage inspired, their theme was sheer perfection. From the glistening festoon lighting and lanterns suspended above, to the charming sunflower bouquets and beautiful antique details, Amanda and Michael’s wedding was utterly breathtaking.

The couple said everything was perfect — completely stress and error free. Amanda added that some people say that if it rains on your wedding day, you will have good luck. Not only did it rain a little before their ceremony, but there was also an earthquake!

The couple added, “if you are considering getting married in Las Vegas, turn to High Class Studios for all of your entertainment, lighting, photography, and video needs.” Amanda and Michael also said A Secret Garden is the best venue in Las Vegas. “It lives up to the name “secret garden.” It is an oasis in the desert. All of the people at the venue work tirelessly to ensure your day is magical.”

We could not agree more! We hope you enjoy these stunning photos of Amanda and Michael’s magical day at A Secret Garden as captured through the lens of High Class Studios.

Danielle and Craig’s story began in the halls of the UNLV Architecture program when they were freshmen in 2004. They were in several classes together and team mates on various projects while they were students and from there a strong friendship grew. The pair stayed in touch via social media, but the magic really began in 2009, when Danielle came back to Las Vegas for a visit.

For their engagement photos, the incredibly talented photographer Chelsea Nicole took the duo and their adorable pit-bull terrier Shadow out to the lake bed and captured some really breathtaking shots.

Because of their shared background in design and architecture they came up with a PERFECT theme for their wedding- “BUILT ON LOVE” with accents of Lego incorporated into the wedding- how clever!!! Craig and Danielle got married in a lovely fall ceremony last month at Legends Ranch, and we cannot wait to see how it all “stacks up”…….sorry, we just had to!!

A little “pop” of color

As the seasons are changing and the temperatures are dropping, the warm sweaters come out and the coffee becomes pumpkin-ized, beautiful pops of color can be found all around Las Vegas too!!! We are talking about the fun pops of pink, red, yellow and orange accents that our beautiful fall bride Lindsey chose to doll her bridesmaids up with.

11.20 Blog 7
We met up with Lindsey and her delightful bridesmaids at the Bellagio on the morning of her wedding to start the day off with pampering and primping. These lovely ladies were such a good time!!! There were silly jokes and stories being told, thoughtful champagne toasts being made, and once Lindsey gave her best girlies their thank you gift and a touching heartfelt note- plenty of happy tears.

Once Lindsey and the ladies in her bridal party and family were dolled up and ready to roll, they headed to Canyon Gate Country Club for the excitement to begin. It was at Lindsey and Cody’s wedding ceremony- performed by Angie of Peachy Keen Unions- that we saw one of the most personal and touching wedding traditions to date- a ring warming ceremony. If you’ve never heard of it, you are not alone, but the concept is simple enough- at the beginning of your service, the officiant lets those in attendants know that the wedding rings will be making their way through the guests, with an invitation for each of them to hold the ring, say a silent prayer or set an intention for your new marriage and then pass it on to the next guest. Eventually making it to the couple at the front for the exchanging of the vows.

Good day mates!  Yep, you guessed it we have a story today that takes us from “the lucky country” Australia to the city that was built on luck and good fortune, Las Vegas of course!  Today we have the pleasure of introducing you to Stace and Dill who packed thier bags to elope here in the wedding capital of the world!  Now, when you are coming all the way from Australia to get hitched in Las Vegas, you know it’s going to be in fine style!  Stace and Dill were elopers who somehow convinced their near and dear ones to join them on a (long) trip to Vegas … and on the plane there, told them it was because they were getting married!
Both the bride and groom got ready at Cosmopolitan and chose to do their first look right on the Strip in front of the hotel.

Like many brides, when we first spoke with Paula about bridal hair and makeup, she shared with us that she wanted a natural and elegant look for her wedding day hair and makeup. Armed with that bit of information, her stylist Crystal, and makeup artist Kiera were able to get right to work creating her perfect look.
Picture3
Paula and Leshon held their ceremony in the chapel at Canyon Ridge Christian Church. The service was absolutely beautiful, full of personal touches and intimate details. The couple’s niece surprised them with a beautiful song while the bride walked down the aisle.  The couple’s nephew also sang a song while they braided the God Knot. The event was full of prayer, singing and plenty of happy happy tears.
Picture1 Picture2 Picture4
Following the ceremony the newlyweds and their bridal party headed over to Floyd Lamb Park for pictures. The incredibly talented photographers from Moxy Studio Photography and Cinema found a lovely, peaceful area overlooking one of the ponds that had beautiful, soft afternoon light. The bride’s bouquet, the boutonnieres and all the floral arrangements were put together by the always impressive Layers of Lovely.
After capturing some lovely moments at the park, the bridal party headed to the reception to get the party started!!! They arrived to the reception that was being held in a family member’s back yard where all their family and friends awaited them.  This was the happiest, friendliest and welcoming crowd we have met in a long time. From the moment we met Paula and the lovely ladies in her family and bridal party, to the heartfelt and personal touches in their wedding ceremony- the love and joy shared between Paula, Leshon, their family and friends was so visible and contagious to all who witnessed it.
Congratulations Paula and Leshon!!! Here’s to a life time of happiness and abundance.

Leave the details to Paulina

Planning a wedding is largely about the details and the logistics whether your planning a small garden event or a destination wedding from abroad working with a professional planner can greatly reduce the anxiety of planning the most exciting day of your life. Today we have the pleasure of introducing you to a vendor we love, Paulina Clute. Originally from New Orleans she now calls Las Vegas her home, her “Mardis Gras” flair is a perfect fit for our city! So without further adieu…..please meet Paulina Clute, of Paulina Clute Events, LLC.

Hey Y’all, I’m Paulina…the ringleader behind Paulina Clute Events, LLC. I first fell in love with the idea of being a wedding planner at 17. I assisted a high-end wedding planner on a huge wedding in New Orleans, where I grew up. I was hooked. Though it took me until last year to officially launch my own business, it’s really always been my passion. Since then, we’ve figured out some great ways of tailoring our services to exactly what our clients are in need of. We offer all customized planning packages. From a full service planning experience, to a day of coordination package, there really is an option to fit everyone’s needs and budget. In this last year, I’ve been privileged to have Makeup in the 702 as part of my vendor team on numerous occasions. On a day where there are so many things to make sure are perfect, it’s a treat to not have to worry about all the girls hair and makeup. The artists will be early, my clients needs will be met, and the end result will be flawless.
What would you like a planning couple to know about your business?
Planning a wedding is an exciting and stressful time for the newly engaged. There are so many avenues to be navigated. Having someone on your side to walk you through the process is invaluable. A lot of couples see a wedding planner as an unnecessary expense or luxury. In my opinion, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Though you may not need/want a wedding planner to be there at every turn, at minimum, a day of coordinator will ensure that all the details you’ve planned out over the last year are executed.
What are the benefits of using your service?
There are so many benefits to hiring a wedding planner or day of coordinator. First of all, if you’ve started the planning process, you know there are a million details. You’ll probably find yourself making tons of phone calls, sending email after email, scheduling appointments and meetings, and worrying if you’re making the right decisions. That all ends once a wedding planner steps in. With our complete wedding planning package, you only call, email, or text me. I handle all of the back and worth communication. The middleman is cut out. Appointments and meetings are scheduled to your convenience….after all, you are the customer. We’re here to give you advice. To help you choose the right photographer to fit your style, the right florist to create the bouquet you’ve always dreamed of, and the perfect DJ for your kind of party. Because this is what we do week in and week out, we know what vendors are going to be best for you. It’s more than just seeing a great photo online and deciding on a photographer. We see behind the scenes. Is this photographer intrusive during the ceremony? How quickly and organized do they get the family and group photos done? Maybe it’s helping you word your invitations because your parents are divorced? Or calling the guest that RSVP’d a plus one, when that wasn’t indicated on the invitation. We’re here to help you at every turn. To make sure the correct song is played when it’s supposed to be. To ensure your new husband has a Jack and Coke in hand. To remind the caterer that Julie at table 5 has a gluten allergy. All the details that you’ve thought about while laying in bed at night, your wedding planner is there to make sure doesn’t get overlooked or forgotten.
It must be quite a challenge to come up with new ideas, Where do you find your inspiration?
After every wedding is wrapped, I sit down and have a meeting with myself. I go over the day. What were the highlights? What worked best? Where can we improve? It really is my last event that inspires to push through and raise the bar for the next one. There is such high I feel when I finally get in my car (at whatever ungodly hour it might be) after a wedding and think, “I just helped make all of their dreams come true! Now let’s do it again, only better!” I also love the fresh ideas being brought to me by my new clients. I love hearing my clients vision, then sitting down and researching how to make it come to life. I’ll find myself laying in bed at night thinking of a creative new floor plan, then next thing you know I’m on my phone pulling up diagrams to see if it will work. It’s so fun to be able to incorporate my past experiences with new clients dreams…and make them come to life!

Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers today?
As you begin the wedding planning journey, please don’t forget what it’s all about. Of course, you want this day to be more than you’ve ever dreamed of, to be the best day of your life…but you must remember the reason you’re doing this. The ultimate goal; that is to commit your life to your partner, to begin your life with your soul mate, beyond that, you’re just throwing a great party!

Thank you so much for spending some time with us today Paulina! Please take a moment to visit Puaulina Clute Events online at www.PaulinaCluteEvents.com learn more about the amazing services she provides.
