As I’m sure all our planning brides know at this point September and October is the absolute hight of wedding season.  
 
Whether you are looking to order your dream cake or book the perfect venue, if you have chosen a September or October date, you know you are going to have to act fast!!
 
With the hight of wedding season also come the hight of a more exciting and relaxed season……HONEYMOON SEASON!!!
 
 
We’ve put together a quick list of the essentials you will want to make sure you remember to pack, as well as a few more resources to help get you ready to celebrate.
 
 

The Important Things & Paperwork 

  • Airline tickets 
  • Passport, visas, driver’s license
  • Credit cards 
  • Any reservation confirmations
  •                 * Two sets of photocopies of all of the above 
  • Phone numbers for your doctor, house or pet sitter and credit card companies (in case your cards are lost or stolen)
  • Prescription medicine (in the original bottle)
  • ID tags for luggage 
  • Camera

The Important Stuff for Her

  • 1 pair jeans, pants or leggings (for cold airports and the plane)
  • 1 light jacket or pullover (take one that can be tied around the waist or stuffed in a backpack)
  • 1 nice sundress
  • 1 little black dress
  • 1 cardigan (for chilly restaurants)
  • 4 casual shirts (T-shirts or tank tops)
  • 2 pairs shorts
  • 2 swimsuits (bikini for the beach, one-piece for water sports)
  • 1 swimsuit cover-up
  • 1 pair sneakers
  • 1 pair walking shoes or sandals
  • 1 pair evening shoes or sandals
  • 1 evening purse or clutch
  • Extra socks and underwear
  • Bras (strapless and otherwise)
  • Accessories (scarves, hats and jewelry to add variety to a limited wardrobe)

Celebrity Weddings We Are In Love With!

Now that we are in the absolutely gallows of the summer heat and the lovely dewey mornings and mild evenings of spring are just a distant memory, photos of celebrity weddings that took place over the past few months are starting to trickle out. Below are a few of our favorite  celebrities who got married in Spring 2017.

Samira-Wiley-Wedding-Dress

This past March Orange Is the New Black actress Samira Wiley married one of the shows Lauren Morelli in an edgy modern ceremony in Palm Springs. Samira wore an elegant off the shoulder dress and Lauren wore a modern pants suit one piece, both designed by Christian Siriano.

Carly Waddell and Evan Bass from Season 3 of Bachelor in Paradise tied the knot this past spring in a colorful intimate ceremony in front of family and friends in Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta resort near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The bride, Carly looked absolutely stunning with a loose side braid for her wedding day hair  and a vintage inspired grey dress.

As if the elegant florals and lavish decor, as well as the stunning designer dresses and completely star studded guest lists weren’t enough to swoon at while pouring over celebrities weddings, the locations of these festivities are enough to make your heart jump!! The incredibly talented, Oscar winner Jessica Chastain, married her long time boyfriend, Italian investment banker Gian Luca Passi De Preposulo, at his family estate -Villa Tiepolo Passi, which is about an hour north of Venice.

Emmy Rossum 1

One of my favorite actresses, Emmy Rossum from one of my favorite shows, Shameless, married her sweetie in a gorgeous traditional Jewish ceremony over Memorial Day weekend. While Emmy plays a gritty, hard hitting and no-holds-barred Fiona Gallagher on the show, a truly soft and loving image was portrayed at the wedding. There were hundreds and hundreds of bursting white roses, gardenias and lilies adorning the temple- it just added to the elegance of the event.

The lovely ceremony was attended by the bride and grooms big families as well the cast of the show (all the Gallaghers at a wedding!? Now THAT is a party!!) and the whole lot headed over to the Guggenheim for a rocking reception with a life band, a DJ, food trucks and of course…photo booth!!

 

Pippa Middleton

We are total suckers for any thing royal here, so when it was announced last fall the The Duchess of Cambridge’s (formally know as Kate Middleton) little sister (more famously know as Pippa Middleton) was getting married the squeals of excitement were uncontainable!!! It was so exciting to hear of little details and did bits as they trickled out during the planning, but it was almost impossible to contain the enthusiasm when the actual wedding happened.

Set in the English country side….CHECK!!

Saying “I Do” under the eves of a historic gothic cathedral……CHECK!!

Princess Charlotte as a bridesmaid and Prince George as a ring bearer…..CHECK!!

A Round Up of Our Favorite Spring Trends

From umbrellas & rubber rain boots, to garden party & brunch receptions and bikes, birds & bees incorporated into the wedding decor, Spring most certainly has sprung and couples are embracing all that this season has to offer!!

Here’s a round up of a few of our favorite nods to spring through personal touches and trends we’ve spotted over the last few weeks.

Flower Crowns

It can’t possibly be a surprise that these delicate floral details would be at the very top of our list!! Goodness- we even did a WHOLE blog about them a few months ago!!

This brides beautiful head piece tied her wedding day hair look together with the custom boutonnière that her groom is sporting.

By topping her loose beach waves with a gorgeous floral crown the brides adds a bit of elegance to a more laid back and casual wedding hair style. She also gets to use more of those fabulous pink and white peonies from her bridal bouquet!

I just love the garden goddess vibe that this bride and her wedding party have with their simple but elegant crowns.

Umbrellas

Every one in the wedding industry has heard and said a million times that its good luck to have it rain on your wedding day. How much of that is truth and how mush of that is trying to reassure a stressed out bride that a few rain drops will NOT ruin their day…..I just don’t know. But seeing umbrellas pop up in wedding planning and decor is both a relief and brilliant!!

If you want to get married in the spring, the possibility of rain is a real threat, but if you’ve got a plan it will all work out.

This savvy and forward thinking couple provided umbrellas for their guest with a cute little note letting guests know that whether “rain or shine” the show would still go on!!

Umbrellas don’t always mean thunder storms and rain puddles. If you are saying your “I-Do”s our side in a garden or at the beach, providing shade from the sun is a sweet way to let your guests know you care!

Vespas and Scooters

There is something so fun and carefree about zipping around during the spring time on a scooter, and when they are incorporated into wedding decorating and transport it adds all of that laughter and whimsy to an already festive day.

This weekend is one of our absolute favorites of the year!! Not only are we in the absolute height of wedding season, but as the temperature is dropping and colors changing there is a noticeable eerie vibe in the air as Halloween approaches.

We just love when couples incorporate their passions into their weddings, and those with a love of all things ghoulish and spooky are some of the most entertaining. Here we’ve rounded up a few of the classy yet ghastly ways of weaving Halloween into your special day.

These Ouija Board invited are so perfect for a Halloween wedding. They bring in the spooky element ahead of the wedding when guests receive the invite months ahead of time with out giving off the vibe of a school holiday carnival.

What ever the theme or vibe of your wedding, Candy Bars have become a modern day staple to keep little ones entertained and to offer guests a sweet reminder they can take home after your special day. And this holiday celebrates candy almost as it does ghosts and goblins, offering another way to tie in the theme.

Any time a “theme” is chosen for a wedding you run the risk of it turning out to be a……ya know……theme party. There is a chance that things can go over board and detract from the whole purpose of the event, the celebration of love.

These place settings are so incredibly elegant with their delicate white pumpkins, vintage crystal glasses and E.A. Poe inspired dishes- they combine the couples love of spooky and each other in the most wonderful way.

This cake!!!!!! So many Halloween inspired cakes and pastries are a bit garish and gory, with red velvet cake peaking through, or the over done fake blood dribbled all over it. But this….this lovely is really spooktacular (I know….. corny…but I just had to).

A little “pop” of color

As the seasons are changing and the temperatures are dropping, the warm sweaters come out and the coffee becomes pumpkin-ized, beautiful pops of color can be found all around Las Vegas too!!! We are talking about the fun pops of pink, red, yellow and orange accents that our beautiful fall bride Lindsey chose to doll her bridesmaids up with.

We met up with Lindsey and her delightful bridesmaids at the Bellagio on the morning of her wedding to start the day off with pampering and primping. These lovely ladies were such a good time!!! There were silly jokes and stories being told, thoughtful champagne toasts being made, and once Lindsey gave her best girlies their thank you gift and a touching heartfelt note- plenty of happy tears.

Once Lindsey and the ladies in her bridal party and family were dolled up and ready to roll, they headed to Canyon Gate Country Club for the excitement to begin. It was at Lindsey and Cody’s wedding ceremony- performed by Angie of Peachy Keen Unions- that we saw one of the most personal and touching wedding traditions to date- a ring warming ceremony. If you’ve never heard of it, you are not alone, but the concept is simple enough- at the beginning of your service, the officiant lets those in attendants know that the wedding rings will be making their way through the guests, with an invitation for each of them to hold the ring, say a silent prayer or set an intention for your new marriage and then pass it on to the next guest. Eventually making it to the couple at the front for the exchanging of the vows.

Surprise! We’re Getting Married In Las Vegas!

Good day mates!  Yep, you guessed it we have a story today that takes us from “the lucky country” Australia to the city that was built on luck and good fortune, Las Vegas of course!  Today we have the pleasure of introducing you to Stace and Dill who packed thier bags to elope here in the wedding capital of the world!  Now, when you are coming all the way from Australia to get hitched in Las Vegas, you know it’s going to be in fine style!  Stace and Dill were elopers who somehow convinced their near and dear ones to join them on a (long) trip to Vegas … and on the plane there, told them it was because they were getting married!
Both the bride and groom got ready at Cosmopolitan and chose to do their first look right on the Strip in front of the hotel.

Paula & Lashon

Like many brides, when we first spoke with Paula about bridal hair and makeup, she shared with us that she wanted a natural and elegant look for her wedding day hair and makeup. Armed with that bit of information, her stylist Crystal, and makeup artist Kiera were able to get right to work creating her perfect look.

Paula and Leshon held their ceremony in the chapel at Canyon Ridge Christian Church. The service was absolutely beautiful, full of personal touches and intimate details. The couple’s niece surprised them with a beautiful song while the bride walked down the aisle.  The couple’s nephew also sang a song while they braided the God Knot. The event was full of prayer, singing and plenty of happy happy tears.

Following the ceremony the newlyweds and their bridal party headed over to Floyd Lamb Park for pictures. The incredibly talented photographers from Moxy Studio Photography and Cinema found a lovely, peaceful area overlooking one of the ponds that had beautiful, soft afternoon light. The bride’s bouquet, the boutonnieres and all the floral arrangements were put together by the always impressive Layers of Lovely.
After capturing some lovely moments at the park, the bridal party headed to the reception to get the party started!!! They arrived to the reception that was being held in a family member’s back yard where all their family and friends awaited them.  This was the happiest, friendliest and welcoming crowd we have met in a long time. From the moment we met Paula and the lovely ladies in her family and bridal party, to the heartfelt and personal touches in their wedding ceremony- the love and joy shared between Paula, Leshon, their family and friends was so visible and contagious to all who witnessed it.
Congratulations Paula and Leshon!!! Here’s to a life time of happiness and abundance.

Hey Y’all, I’m Paulina…the ringleader behind Paulina Clute Events, LLC. I first fell in love with the idea of being a wedding planner at 17. I assisted a high-end wedding planner on a huge wedding in New Orleans, where I grew up. I was hooked. Though it took me until last year to officially launch my own business, it’s really always been my passion. What would you like a planning couple to know about your business?
Planning a wedding is an exciting and stressful time for the newly engaged. There are so many avenues to be navigated. Having someone on your side to walk you through the process is invaluable. A lot of couples see a wedding planner as an unnecessary expense or luxury. In my opinion, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Though you may not need/want a wedding planner to be there at every turn, at minimum, a day of coordinator will ensure that all the details you’ve planned out over the last year are executed.
What are the benefits of using your service?
There are so many benefits to hiring a wedding planner or day of coordinator. First of all, if you’ve started the planning process, you know there are a million details. You’ll probably find yourself making tons of phone calls, sending email after email, scheduling appointments and meetings, and worrying if you’re making the right decisions. That all ends once a wedding planner steps in. With our complete wedding planning package, you only call, email, or text me. I handle all of the back and worth communication. The middleman is cut out. Appointments and meetings are scheduled to your convenience….after all, you are the customer. We’re here to give you advice. To help you choose the right photographer to fit your style, the right florist to create the bouquet you’ve always dreamed of, and the perfect DJ for your kind of party. Because this is what we do week in and week out, we know what vendors are going to be best for you. It’s more than just seeing a great photo online and deciding on a photographer. We see behind the scenes. Is this photographer intrusive during the ceremony? How quickly and organized do they get the family and group photos done? Maybe it’s helping you word your invitations because your parents are divorced? Or calling the guest that RSVP’d a plus one, when that wasn’t indicated on the invitation. We’re here to help you at every turn. To make sure the correct song is played when it’s supposed to be. To ensure your new husband has a Jack and Coke in hand. To remind the caterer that Julie at table 5 has a gluten allergy. All the details that you’ve thought about while laying in bed at night, your wedding planner is there to make sure doesn’t get overlooked or forgotten.
It must be quite a challenge to come up with new ideas, Where do you find your inspiration?
After every wedding is wrapped, I sit down and have a meeting with myself. I go over the day. What were the highlights? What worked best? Where can we improve? It really is my last event that inspires to push through and raise the bar for the next one. There is such high I feel when I finally get in my car (at whatever ungodly hour it might be) after a wedding and think, “I just helped make all of their dreams come true! Now let’s do it again, only better!” I also love the fresh ideas being brought to me by my new clients. I love hearing my clients vision, then sitting down and researching how to make it come to life. I’ll find myself laying in bed at night thinking of a creative new floor plan, then next thing you know I’m on my phone pulling up diagrams to see if it will work. It’s so fun to be able to incorporate my past experiences with new clients dreams…and make them come to life!

Destination Vegas Tips from A Bride

Well here we are, one year later from one of our favorite couples ever. Sarah started following us Facebook more than a year from her wedding date and saw all of our before and after posts and 5 star reviews. Of course this makes anyone even more excited for their own wedding day. Even her mom and friends started following us to- by the time the day came we all felt like we were long lost friends reuniting.
Fast forward to the current date and we celebrate Sarah & Stephen’s 1 year anniversary. We took a moment to catch up with the happy couple to see what they’ve been doing.

Thanks so much for your lovely message!
We had such an amazing day with 30 of our fellow Brits, partying up and down The Strip on an open top double decker bus with Elvis after our ceremony and reception and Cili Restaurant.
The first year has been amazing and magical!
We had a fantastic two weeks honeymoon in Mexico and are excited to come back to Vegas this weekend to celebrate our 1st Wedding Anniversary!
Thanks so much for being part of our day! Your girls really took care of us and your work was fantastic!

“Do your research well to trust the people doing the planning for you, and don’t get stressed or fussed at the small details of the wedding. They won’t matter. Making memories away with your loved ones is way more important than making sure any chair covers match the bridesmaids”
“The only thing I wish I did different was have a different dress to change into late at night. 10 hours in a princess dress on the Las Vegas strip took its toll.  I defiantly needed a shorter party dress for the night. LOL”
