Picture4I couldn’t think of a better time than the week of Fourth of July to announce this amazing news!  Makeup in the 702 is proud to sponsor the hair and makeup for Angelina Yarbrough, Mrs. North Dakota for the 2015 Mrs. United States pageant.   There’s been more than a little news on beauty pageants the past few weeks, but Mrs. United States holds the crown when it comes to history, poise and beauty.

Recognized as “the premier event of its kind” and the largest pageant system available to married women, each year we welcome contestants from all 50 states and the U.S. territories to a gala national pageant in the glittering city of Las Vegas!

Founded in 1986 by Isabella Ilacqua, the Mrs. United States National Pageant system was created out of respect and admiration for married women of beauty and intelligence.

Mrs. Ilacqua sought to provide a forum to publicly recognize and acknowledge the fact that married women often play many roles as wife, mother, homemaker and/or professional with a flair and resilience uncommonly found elsewhere.

Picture3I am absolutely inspired by Angelina’s platform; “One of my greatest reasons for entering the Mrs. United States competition is the opportunity to become a spokeswoman for countless young women who struggle with self-esteem issues and to be the voice of encouragement that they need. Our society heavily influences women, especially in its demand for physical perfection. I want to inspire women to find beauty and greatness in their own passions and dreams rather than follow the media’s lead that encourages obsession over physicality. My heart breaks for women and young girls who struggle with low self-esteem to the point of dangerous eating disorders, and I have made it my goal to take the opportunity as Mrs. North Dakota to help young women recognize their value and importance and to re-define the meaning of true beauty.  I want to be the voice that encourages women all around the country to grow in their passions, dreams and aspirations rather than shrink their
clothing size.” ~Angelina Yarbrough

Many married women are an inspiration to their families, friends, colleagues and community—the role of wife, mother and career woman does not prevent some women from finding time to become involved in community activities or from maintaining her health, beauty, and mind.

The Mrs. United States National Pageant® contestant is an intelligent, married woman who knows what she wants in her career, family and appearance. She maintains a strong sense of identity and embodies the true spirit of “complete woman”… total beauty.
